Motivation and Inspiration Day
Share
Years ago (14 years ago to be exact), I had $4,000 and a dream of owning my own business. Talks with my Great-Grandmother as a child, and slow career growth had inspired me to find a way to make the dream come true. I'd been to school for Entrepreneurship, and believed I knew enough. It became clear very quickly after incorporating my business that I did not. Lol.
I sought the help of an Attorney to hopefully sort out a problem with my filing for cheap. Luckily, I happened across a very successful attorney named Greg with a heart bigger than his substantial wallet. He not only sorted out my issue, but was my attorney for the first year without charging me a dime. After speaking with me, he believed in me, and that belief gave me confidence and motivation. That initial company, which was in the computer hardware industry, defied the odds and led to opening a second part of the company in the clothing industry.
Along the way, I had a customer named Betsy for the computer company that quickly became a friend. An older woman who had rolled up her sleeves and created her own success. She supported me and believed in me. Her friendship, faith in me, and mentorship made a huge difference over the years.
Both companies did well, but then came Covid-19. It was great for some companies, but tough on others. We found ourselves on the tough side of things....especially in the clothing industry. We were forced narrow our focus so much that it began to feel as though I led a company that I didn't recognize. I made the tough decision to step away. It was made more tough because the company had helped to pull my family out of poverty. It had served as the source of my sense of accomplishment, my living breathing dream.
I began working for another company, and they were amazing to me from the start, and my career there thrived. Still, I missed being an entrepreneur. I truly feel that it is my calling. There was just one thing I required of myself in order to begin again. I needed to do something that I could put my heart into. I needed to be sure I'd always recognize the company I led.
I firmly believe that thousands of years of humanity can't be wrong about the energies that these stones and flowers can bring. I believe that having them in your surroundings can help. I have stones in my home, in my office, and in my backpack. I decided that I'd try to make the stones into functional pieces in my home in order to prevent piles of stones taking up too much surface space on counters, shelves, and tables. We're still developing new products that I can't wait to share with you!
That is how The Torched Rose Company was born. You all are here in the early stages, and I am grateful for that! Let's see how far we can take this thing!
So, here I sit on Motivation and Inspiration Day. It has a renewed significance this year. If you're still reading, there are a few things that I want you to know from all of this:
You can change your life, no matter where you find yourself, or how little you have.
You will find people who believe in you when you put yourself out there and place some belief in yourself.
Your support and belief in others can make a huge difference in their lives.
Give to the world and be open to the world giving to you.
Never be afraid to chase your dreams!
